Safeguarding Children

In our Academy each and every child, and adult, has the right to Be Safe and Feel Safe and these Protective Behaviours, are at the heart of all we do.

We are a Listening School where safeguarding is everyone’s business and we actively promote a whole school culture of openness, respect and vigilance.

All pupils receive age appropriate safeguarding awareness education through our Personal, Social, Heath Education and Sex and Relationships programmes which focus on preventative self-care and self-protection, healthy relationships and emotional resilience. We also have an extensive programme of visiting speakers on safeguarding related topics and access to multi-agency professionals where this support is required.

All Academy staff have annual Safeguarding and Prevent training, with regular updates in between, and each Centre has at least two trained Designated Safeguarding Le

In addition, all our Governors receive the same safeguarding and prevent training as our staff and both our Chair of Governors and Safeguarding Governor have professionally related experience and training.
